Terms of Service

Effective August 19, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and OpenTooler, the operator of OpenTooler (opentooler.ai). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.

What OpenTooler is

OpenTooler gives you and your AI agents access to third-party tools, data lookups, transcription, scraping, search, and similar, through one account and one prepaid balance. You top up, you call tools, each call is charged at the price shown in the catalog.

OpenTooler is independent. Provider names in the catalog (Apify, AssemblyAI, People Data Labs, and others) belong to their owners, and their appearance does not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Your account

You sign in with Google and must be at least 18. Keep your API key secret. Calls made with your key are your calls, including calls made by agents you have configured. The CLI supports spending caps (--max-price); use them if your agents run unattended.

Balance and charges

  • Your balance is prepaid. Top-ups are processed by Dodo Payments.
  • Each tool's price is shown in the catalog and returned by opentooler tools describe before you call it.
  • Fixed-price tools are charged only on success. Per-minute tools are billed as described on their catalog entry. If a call fails and you were charged anyway, tell us and we will credit it back.
  • Purchased balance you have not spent is refundable on request. Promotional credit, such as signup credit, is not refundable and has no cash value.
  • Prices can change. A change never applies retroactively to calls you have already made.

Acceptable use

Use the tools lawfully. In particular, do not use OpenTooler to harass or stalk people, to collect data for spam, to violate a provider's terms or a website's access rules, or to probe or overload our infrastructure. We can suspend accounts that do, and abuse forfeits promotional credit.

Third-party results

Tool results come from third-party providers. We route the call and the payment; we do not verify the accuracy of what comes back. Do not rely on results for decisions where an error would cause serious harm without checking them independently.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as-is, without warranties. Tools can be added, changed, repriced, or retired; the catalog is the current source of truth. We work to keep the service up but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or what third-party providers do with data you sent them.

Ending things

You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]; we will refund unused purchased balance. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we shut down the service or close your account for any reason other than abuse, we will refund your unused purchased balance.

Governing law

Questions or disputes can be raised at [email protected].

Changes to these terms

We will note material changes in the changelog and update the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
